Relation to Oriental Medicine

Bai Guo (Semen Ginkgo Bilobae (Ginkgo Nut)) is an astringent herb used to expel phlegm and stop wheezing and to stop discharges. The leaf (Yin Guo Ye) "has recently been used for hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, coronary artery disease, angina pectoris, and cerebrovascular disease."
