Textron is a publicly owned industrial conglomerate founded in 1923.[1] According to the company's website, "Textron consists of numerous subsidiaries and operating divisions, which are responsible for the day-to-day operation of their businesses."[1] These businesses include: Bell Helicopter, Cessna, E-Z-GO, Greenlee, Jaconsen, Kautex, Textron Financial Corporation, and Textron Systems.[2] The company is headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island.[3]

The Campaign to Fix the Debt is the latest incarnation of a decades-long effort by former Nixon man turned Wall Street billionaire Pete Peterson to slash earned benefit programs such as Social Security and Medicare under the guise of fixing the nation's "debt problem."
