"The Association was formed in 2004 at the suggestion of East Midlands entrepreneur and eco-enthusiast Professor Tony Marmont, and backed by a number of East Midlands based eco-businesses. The aim of the Association at that time was to encourage the faster take-up of environmental technologies, in response to the need to reduce consumption of non-renewable resources." [1]
