Universal Human Rights Network (UHRN) is a Washington based Non-governmental Organization(NGO) founded in 2001 by a group of human rights lawyers and activists. The principal functions of the organization are advocating public policies that enhance the respect for human rights and provide legal remedies and humanitarian assistance to victims of human rights abuses. In addition, the encouragement of sustainable development, democracy and civil society through monitoring human rights and observation of elections and trials on an international level for breaches of human rights." UHRN is a sucessor to the Transnational Immigration and Refugee Group. [2]
