"Vyacheslav Kopiev is Deputy Chairman of the leading Russian holding company AFK SISTEMA. He joined Sistema as a Vice President in 1997, served as Senior Vice President and Chief of the External Business Relations Group from 2000 to 2003, and has been a Director since 2001. He was elected Deputy Chairman of the Board in 2003. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Intourist. From 1989 till arriving at Sistema, Mr. Kopiev occupied leading positions at the Administrative Board of the Union of Engineering Societies, including Director for International Relations and Innovation from 1992 to 1997.He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Sputnik from 1990 to 1997. In 1989 he was elected First Secretary of the Moscow City Committee of Komsomol and later became Second Secretary of the Komsomol Central Committee. From 1980 to 1989 he was Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Council of Young Scientists and Specialists as well as the Moscow City Council for the Development of the Scientific and Technical Abilities of Youth.

"Mr. Kopiev is the President of the Russian Rugby Union since 2003, and in 2004 was elected Vice-President of the FIRA-AER. Mr Kopiev holds several senior corporate positions, including the Main Board of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, where he also serves as Deputy Chairman, as well as Chairman of the Board of Sistema Mass Media, Intourist, Rosbalt Information Agency and Literaturnaya Gazeta (Literary Gazette)."[1]
