The World Land Trust-US "is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 1989 to save rainforests and other threatened tropical habitats that are critical for preventing immediate species extinctions." [1] Partner organization to the World Land Trust UK.

According to their 2006 Annual Report "WLT-US and the E.O. Wilson Foundation have joined forces in a program designed to undertake public educational, scientific and programmatic activities to educate the public about and conserve biological diversity. The program emphasizes citizen science, and country accords to promote biodiversity conservation and use."
