Allied Waste Industries is a "network of 304 collection companies provides collection services to approximately 10 million customers nationwide." They also "serve industrial and commercial customers across the country, providing customized non-hazardous solid waste disposal services for local, regional and national accounts."

"Allied Waste owns and operates 169 active landfills across the country, with an average remaining life of 30 years" and it also runs "57 recycling facilities offer waste handling and collection services and educational programs in certain markets." They "recycle more than 1.7 million tons of recyclable commodities a year, including paper, glass and plastics and reusable construction debris." [1]
