Greg Lindsay is the Executive Director of the Sydney-based free market think tank the Centre for Independent Studies, and President of the Mont Pelerin Society, an international group which promotes neo-liberal thinking and policies. The Society's website warns of "danger in the expansion of government, not least in state welfare, in the power of trade unions and business monopoly, and in the continuing threat and reality of inflation."
Born in 1949, Lindsay grew up in Newcastle and then Turramurra, on Sydney’s upper North Shore. He attended high school at Asquith Boys' High and studied at the University of Sydney, Sydney Teachers' College and Macquarie University. He was a mathematics teacher in Sydney before establishing the Centre for Independent Studies in 1976.
