China Huaneng Group is the largest government-owned power generation company in China. The company, commonly referred to as Huaneng, is listed in a 2009 report bt Greenpeace China as owning power stations with total installed capacity of 85.86 gigawatts.[1]

It is the parent company of Huaneng Power International, which states on its website that it and its "its subsidiaries develop, construct, operate and manage large power plants throughout China. As of June 30, 2007, the Company’s attributable and controllable installed capacity were respectively 31,747MW and 36,024MW, making it one of the largest listed power producers in China."[1]
