The Ephedra Education Council (EEC) is a PR group funded by the dietary supplement industry. Its main spokesperson, quoted as a "legal counsel" or "attorney" in news stories, is Wes Seigner. This group defends the safety and efficacy of the weight-loss drug ephedra and pushes to keep it legal.
