Valliere, who co-founded the Washington Research Group in 1974 as The Washington Forum, became the Forum's chief political analyst and editor of the Forum's publications and was named Research Director in 1980. 
Valliere, who "covers politics, federal monetary and tax policy," began his career at The Washington Post. In 1972, he "started his Washington career" at F-D-C Reports, "a trade publication that monitors the pharmaceutical industry where he became Chief Congressional Correspondent and later news editor." Valliere is a "frequent guest on CNBC’s Market Wrap, CNN’s Business Day and Nightly Business Report, which appears on most PBS stations." He "earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from The George Washington University, where for several years he taught a course in newsletter writing."
