Biographical Information

"Mr. Kohlberg co-founded Kohlberg & Company in 1987 and was its sole Managing Partner from 1993 to 2007. Currently he is Chairman of the firm, which raised its sixth private equity fund of $1.5 billion with over $5 billion of equity under management and focuses on value acquisitions as well as underperforming companies in a variety of industries. In addition, Jim has been an active venture investor in internet, media, entertainment, and alternative energy, having founded Kohlberg Ventures in 2008. Kohlberg Ventures investments include ClearEdge Power, a fuel cell company of hwich Jim is Chairman, Open Road Meida, an ebook-centric publisher and Halogen Media Networks, a digital media publisher and advertising network. He is also Chairman of Essential Entertainment, a film finance and foregin sales company. In addition to ecoAmerica, Jim is on the Board of Directors of the New York Times Company."[1]
