Mohammed Jahed Group Chief Economist of the AGE Group.

"Dr Jahed has considerable experience in the fields of Economic Development, Development Planning, Development Finance and Programme Management. He was previously employed in the office of the South African Presidency in support of Professor Wiseman Nkuhlu, economic advisor to President Thabo Mbeki. While employed at the Presidency, he was seconded to the NEPAD Secretariat as Chief Economist. In this role, he travelled extensively, providing support and analysis to South African cabinet members and their foreign counterparts, in the establishment phase of the NEPAD.

"Previous professional experience includes periods as Director: Economic Growth at the National Business Initiative, Deputy Director-General: Office of the Premier in Limpopo Province, and Senior Economic and Planning Specialist at the Development Bank of Southern Africa.

"In addition to contributing supplemental capability in the areas of Development Economics and Policy Analysis to the Econometrix team, Dr Jahed has also recently been appointed a professor at the University of the Witwatersrand's Graduate School of Business." [1]
