Crestview Aerospace Corporation

  • Associate Member of Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). [4]
  • "New military hangar opens," EmeraldCoast.com, June 29, 2004: "The 52,000-square-foot hangar was built by the county at a cost of $3.8 million which was funded primarily through a Federal grant from the Economic Development Administration and the remaining $18,000 from Airport funds. Crestview Aerospace Corporation is leasing the hangar" from Okaloosa County ...
Charles E. Shanklin, chief executive officer of Crestview Aerospace Corporation.
"Crestview Aerospace has been in the aerospace fabrication and modification business since 1964 in Crestview. The family-owned corporation had revenues of approximately $56 million in 2004 and is forecasted to grow to over $100 million in 2007. The company employs more than 1,000 people in its two divisions on the east side of Bob Sikes Airport in Okaloosa County, Florida."
"The war on terrorism has spurred the high tech modification of military aircraft, which is one of the primary business segments in which the Crestview Aerospace Aircraft Modification Group specializes. Company officials said the growth is due to advantageous partnering arrangements with Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Bell Helicopter and others to provide the "touch labor" necessary for upgrades to the military fleet.
"The Aerostructures Group of Crestview Aerospace makes the majority of sheet metal structures and assemblies for Bell Helicopter and multiple parts, sub-assemblies and major aircraft assemblies for Boeing, Gulfstream, Lockheed, L-3, Vought and others. Some new areas of manufacturing for the company, such as composite work, will be considered for the Fairhope plant.
"In addition, considerable personal interest by the owners of Crestview Aerospace in new emerging technology has spurred the company to provide research and development space to emerging technologies such as biomedical devices, nanofiber technology and energy efficient gas turbine engines."
Congressman Jo Bonner, Alabama's 1st District [5]
