| Philip Morris ran a major 'WhiteCoats' (scientific) McGill University ETS Symposium in Nov 1989 which the industry deemed highly successful. Following the conference they published the papers (and a book), all by paid scientists, which said they proved that passive smoking was not a health hazard. Looking down the list of participants, it is impossible to escape the conclusion that every scientist in attendance (200+) were either paid a salary by the tobacco industry, or operated as a science-for-sale expert for the industry. The list became notorious as a ready-identifier of corrupt scientists. |
