Hi Jim

First, welcome to SourceWatch. Re your query on the exclamation marks that appear to registered users on the edit list on the recent changes page after a recent upgrade to the wiki software.

When you click on the "diff" option on the Recent changes page, a link saying "Mark as patrolled" should appear at top. Clicking the link removes the he exclamation mark. The thinking behind this is to reduce/eliminate duplicated effort of those of us who routinely review the recent changes page to make sure changes are up to reasonable standards. While it does not indicate who marked the edit as patrolled, the fact that it is not available to unregistered users (who appear in the edit logs with only their IP address) does make it a potentially useful feature.

There is further discussion - including its limitations - on it in the archives over at Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Checked_edits_brainstorming

Cheers
