Progressive Strategies LLC was co-founded by Michael Lux and Thomas Sheridan.

According to the company's web site, "Previously, Lux was Senior Vice President at People for the American Way (PFAW) and before that Special Assistant in the Office of Public Liaison during President William Jefferson Clinton's first three years in office. Thomas Sheridan is President of The Sheridan Group, a leading government and public affairs consulting firm. Progressive Strategies has established a strategic partnership with The Sheridan Group to help both firms grow and develop their capacities to serve their clients. Extensive experience in grassroots organizing and politics combined with knowledge of the inner-workings of government and elections -- from local school boards to the White House -- make the Progressive Strategies team the one you want to help you achieve your goals."[1]

Progressive Strategies describes itself as "an innovative new consulting firm, offering the progressive community -- issue advocacy groups, Political Action Committees (PACs), individual donors, and socially responsible businesses -- a broad package of services [with a focus] on issue-oriented projects, mainly for non-profit organizations and PACs."[2]
