Biography

"He is currently Non-Executive Chair of the Investment Committees of Virgin Green Fund Emerging Markets, Renewable Energy Asia Fund (managed by Berkeley Energy) and Prometheus (an impact fund to supply power to poor consumers in sub Saharan Africa using off-grid renewable technologies), a Non-Executive Director of United Anodisers SA, a member of the Advisory Panels of Eiser Infrastructure Fund (an EU-focused infrastructure fund), a member of the Advisory Committee of 46 Parallels LLP (a fund to provide equity linked debt to growing African companies), a member of the Advisory Board of Honeywell Africa Infrastructure Company (the power development/operation arm of a leading Nigerian business conglomerate), and a Strategic Advisor to Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), leading an initiative to increase private-sector investment in renewable power plants in Africa. He is also involved in youth and education charitable activities in the UK.

"From 2009 until 2011, Andrew was head of the Programme Management Unit of PIDG, a multi-donor organisation which sets up and funds business activities to boost private infrastructure investment in the world’s poorest countries (mostly in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia). During almost 10 years at CDC / Actis until leaving in 2009, Andrew was Chief Investment Officer, Head of Infrastructure, and CEO of Globeleq, the holding company for the majority of Actis’ energy portfolio companies spread across Asia, Africa and Latin America. Before CDC, he worked at Citicorp, Botts & Co and Credit Suisse."[1]
