"I joined the Soft Touch Management in September 2013. I got involved because I have seen what organisations like Soft Touch can achieve in building young people’s confidence and making a meaningful, lasting and positive impact on the people they work with. My kids also really enjoyed spray painting vinyl records at Summer Sundae. I currently work as Partnerships Manager for Leicestershire County Council and am also on the Board for the Saffron Young People’s Project – a youth outreach charity based on Saffron Lane. Like Gill, I bring expertise of governance, policy, strategic planning, and partnership working to Soft Touch having been responsible for public health and child poverty strategies for the county. I will also help Soft Touch with their transition to a charity and a new building – processes I am familiar with having been Chair of the Leyton Orient Commumity Sports Programme in East London who underwent both types of change.

"I was brought up in Leicester and have that very Leicester sense of civic pride about the place – having a go at it in public but loving it really. I love sport (season ticket holder at the City) and all pop culture, co-writing the poplifer blog – a celebration of what is great about music, film and TV. I also have two young kids and I am enjoying watching them grow up in Leicester. I want to see Soft Touch become part of the fabric of this fine city – an instantly recognisble Leicester good thing, like LOROS or Irish Menswear."[1]
