Background

The Darwin City Gate to Berrimah pipeline is operated and owned by APA Group. The pipeline was built in 1995 to meet an estimated future demand of 100 terajoules per day in the Darwin Trade Development Zone and nearby Berrimah industrial estate.[2] This level of demand did not materialize, and the pipeline, as of 2003, was delivering 8 terajoules per day.[2]
