David S. Peoples: Defense

Biography

David S. Peoples served on the Board of Directors from 1960-1974, as Vice Chairman from 1973-1976, President from 1971-1972, Executive Vice President from 1967-1970, Comptroller from 1960-1966, and resigned due to a corporate scandal in July 1976. (Source: R.J. Reynolds Who's Who NMLRP). Peoples was the heir apparent to succeed Alex Galloway but dropped out when Paul Sticht and others threatened to quit (Barbarians 1990).
