Biographical Information

"Elaine Clowes is the Chief Executive and Founder of the Children’s Links Group. She is a Chartered Director with a background in the private, public, and voluntary sectors in children’s services, learning, education, housing, community development and youth work. She spent nine years in the civil service and ten years in the TEC movement before joining Children’s Links. Elaine is passionate about making a difference in society and believes that we can all play a part in improving the lives of children and young people. She founded Children’s Links to address the need for childcare in communities and has grown it to address a wide range of gaps and deficiencies in services for children, young people and families. Under Elaine’s leadership Children’s Links shapes and delivers solutions for children, young people and families nationally and in local areas.

"Elaine is a Director of Children England and has been involved in a variety of national boards including SkillsActive UK one of the 21 UK Sector Skills Councils, where she was also Chair for 6 years; the Children’s Workforce Development Council; The Daycare Trust; The National Early Years Network. More locally, Elaine has supported various voluntary organisations including being a founding Trustee and then Chair of the Lincolnshire Community Foundation.
