Fernando Aguirre "is chairman and CEO of Chiquita Brands International, where he assumed the leadership role in January 2004. Aguirre brings to Chiquita more than 23 years of experience in brand management, general management and turnarounds at Procter and Gamble. During his P&G career, he turned around business units in Brazil and Mexico and served in leadership roles as vice president of P&G’s global snacks and food products as well as president of global feminine care.

"Aguirre serves on the boards at Chiquita and Coca-Cola Enterprises, and in 2001, he helped form a corporate advisory board for the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, where he served as its first chairman. Aguirre is a member of Young Presidents Organization and the Cincinnati Business Committee.

"A native of Mexico, Aguirre earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration (marketing) at Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville), where he obtained a full baseball scholarship." [1]
