Biographical Information

Julian H. Burns "has served as the Vice President of Defense Affairs at BAE Systems (USA) since January, 2005. Previously, JB served in the United States Army for three decades stationed in the United States, Korea, Europe, the Balkans, Israel and the Arabian Peninsula. JB last served as Commanding General of a Joint Task Force in Operation Desert Fox in Israel, and as G3/5-Chief of Staff/Deputy Commanding General of U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). Since joining BAE, JB has managed security markets in Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sweden, South Africa US, UK and for NATO...

"JB is active in numerous organizations including the Carabao, the Cincinnati, the Truro Parish in Virginia, and numerous professional organizations. JB is also a pro bono member of the Office of the Secretary of Defense WSAR and the Task Force for Business and Stability Operations (TFBSO) in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a published author, former Executive Assistant to two Chairmen of the Joint Chief of Staff, and Executive Assistant to the Army Chief of Staff.

JB is an avid athlete, sportsman, and an absentee South Carolina tree farmer. JB and his wife, Ruth Ann, have three daughters, Joan, Captain Julia Burns Furman, and Jacqueline who works in the Federal service. They also have the world’s best granddaughter, Joan’s daughter Lindsay." [1]
