Kalahari Peoples Fund
the Kalahari Peoples Fund "is an Austin, Texas, based non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization formed for the benefit of the San and other indigenous peoples of the Kalahari Desert. Its main function is to act as a liaison between the rural peoples of the Kalahari region and the individuals, groups and agencies who are able to assist in their economic, educational, cultural and sustainability needs." "The Kalahari Peoples Fund was founded in 1973 by members of the Harvard Kalahari Research Group, and has held 501 (c)(3) status since 1978. For over 30 years, our organization has been composed of volunteer professional anthropologists, development workers, linguists, educators and other experts; who have worked closely with these peoples and are familiar with their contemporary situations. Our volunteers respond to requests by the San, Nama, Tyua and other indigenous Kalahari communities to advocate, advise, research and fundraise for emerging situations and much needed community projects." [2]
