Lawrence Patrick "is Director, Business Development and Strategy for Jazz at Lincoln Center. Mr. Patrick works closely with Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis and Executive Director Adrian Ellis to oversee strategy for new media, content distribution, intellectual property, and corporate partnerships for the jazz world’s largest organization.

"Before coming to Jazz at Lincoln Center, Mr. Patrick led the Black Alliance for Educational Options for nearly five years. Mr. Patrick—who was appointed President & CEO at age 26—led BAEO through a period of dramatic growth, building the national staff and expanding the organization’s national reach.

"Prior to assuming the presidency of BAEO, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Megaschool, a company he co-founded in 1999 to help inner-city charter schools make better use of technology.

"Mr. Patrick sits on the Advisory Committee for the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard University. He also serves on the Washington, D.C., Public Charter School Board; the Board of Directors of the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy charter school; the Board of Directors of the National Charter Schools Institute; and the Board of Directors of Inspire USA. Mr. Patrick is the former Chairman of the Charter School Leadership Council and was Commissioner to the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO.

"A native of Detroit, Mr. Patrick is an honors graduate of Cass Tech and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cass Tech Alumni Association." [1]
