Lord Jacob Rothschild, OM GBE was born Nathaniel Charles Jacob Rothschild, the fourth Baron Rothschild. He is head of the English branch of the Rothschild family and chairman of RIT Capital Partners plc." Rothschild is a member of the board of trustees of the Open Russia Foundation.[1]

"Lord Rothschild has played a leading role in the Arts and Heritage field, both in Great Britain and abroad. He was chairman of the National Gallery from 1985 to 1991, during a period of construction and restoration. He has just completed six years as chairman of the National Heritage Memorial Fund and has been responsible for the distribution of 1.25 billion pounds sterling of National Lottery proceeds to support the heritage sector in the United Kingdom."[2]

Lord Rothschild was educated in history at Christ Church, Oxford, England.[7]

He is a Trustee of The Prince's Charities Foundation, the Edmond J Safra Foundation and is a member of Henry J Kravis Prize for Creative Philanthropy." [1]

He is married to Serena Mary Dunn.
