Mara Giglio "has served as Training Coordinator and Director for the Appalachian Peace and Justice Network (APJN) and as a consultant for the Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management (OCDRCM) since 1999. At APJN she provides training on conflict resolution, peer mediation, and bully prevention as well as doing community organizing around social and economic justice issues. She is currently coordinating comprehensive conflict management programs at three local elementary schools. As a consultant for OCDRCM she has trained teachers across the state in conflict management techniques and curriculum infusion strategies. She has trained over 1200 adults and 1500 students during her nine years as a conflict management trainer.

"Mara has taught six classes through Ohio University on School Conflict Management. In 2005, she traveled to Indonesia to train educators and activists in peer mediation.

"She is also a volunteer mediator for the Athens Area Mediation Service where she mediates in the small claims court and for private disputes.

"In 1998, Mara received her B.A. focusing on Peace Education from Wheaton College in Massachusetts. During her junior year in college and after she graduated from Wheaton, she traveled and studied extensively in India, Nepal and Tibet." [1]
