Mbuyiselwa Patrick Sokhela

"Dr. Sokhela holds a PhD in Natural Resources (University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg) with a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree and a Masters in Agricultural Extension (University of Fort Hare). Dr. Sokhela has focused on the development of small scale growers in South Africa. His main responsibilities relate to administration, organisational structures, training and support services. He has also been a Council Member of the South African Sugar Association.

"In particular, he has facilitated the management and development of SMMEs in KwaZulu-Natal through numerous workshops. In 1996, he acted as a consultant to the Government of National Unity, Department of Agriculture in Pretoria. He held the position of co-ordinator of the KwaZulu-Natal programme in 1998 for the Initiative for Development and Equity in African Agriculture (IDEAA) project, which operates in South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Botswana."
