Mervyn Marcano is Communications Director for The League of Young Voters.

An accomplished communicator and organizer, Mervyn Marcano has worked for several years on many local and national campaigns.

As Communications Director at The League of Young Voters, Mervyn manages a team of communicators within its affiliates, crafts strategy, develops messages, drives media outreach, builds coalitions, and supervises marketing and advertising.

Immediately before joining The League, Mervyn served as Communications Director for the Right to Vote Campaign, a national collaboration of eight major civil rights organizations dedicated to ending felony disfranchisement. He supervised media outreach, wrote opinion pieces, developed local and national strategy, built coalition, trained spokespeople, and created messages.

Mervyn has a background in private public relations work, representing over a dozen Fortune 500 companies through crisis communications, marketing, and advertising. He's also worked at some of the nation's pre-eminent cultural institutions doing marketing and media relations.

While he is a sought-after communications professional, Mervyn's grounding is in community organizing. He has worked with dozens of organizations tackling police brutality, gentrification, and race-based bias in government service provision.

Mervyn has been a featured media spokesperson for print, television and radio outlets including, ABC, BBC World News, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Seattle Post Intelligencer, The L.A.
