He recently took the Antarctic Act through Parliament, safeguarding both the Antarctic environment and British interests in the area for future generations...Neil was a Conservative County Councillor in Northumberland from 1989-93, Parliamentary Candidate for Leeds in 1992, and Parliamentary Candidate for the Stroud constituency in 2001 and 2005. During these years, he was actively involved in European and foreign affairs."[1]
