"Paul has worked in or for the NHS for 40 years in a wide range of roles and for the last two decades has been a Chief Officer or Chief Executive. Paul is currently the Chief Executive of Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group and is also the System Leader across Health and Care. Prior to that he was Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust, and before that was interim chief executive at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. He has also been chief executive of three Primary Care Trusts in the Midlands. He has a strong track record of building partnerships, and leading organisations to deliver changes that make a positive difference to the health and care services people receive in their local community. Paul is the President and Chair of Welcome Wellbeing CIC, which focuses on addressing health issues from Black and Minority Communities and Migrants. He has also recently been appointed as a non-executive Director and now Transition Chair of the Gold Standards Framework CIC which delivers training and influences policy around end of life care in a range of community and hospital settings.

"At ExtraCare, Paul was appointed as the Chair of the Development Committee in June 2016. He was appointed as Chair of the Charity in 2017."[1]
