Biographical Information

"My association with the Centre has been a long one as I first arrived as a service user in 1990 following my own diagnosis and treatment for locally advanced breast cancer. It was here that I learnt of the extraordinary power that skilful, sensitive support can have in helping you to find the courage and strength to confront what is happening to you and to transform such a turbulent and potentially catastrophic experience into one where you can learn to live with it, with all its uncertainties, and to find a creative way forward that is right for you.

"I was on the Board of the Centre for a few years, including a three year term as Chair, before returning as a Trustee more recently. I was also a Board member of the national charity, Breast Cancer Care for thirteen years and was Chair for six years until retiring in 2008.

"My background was originally in the performing arts and education but I now work on Breast Cancer Care’s helpline which provides support and information throughout the UK."[1]
