This Perfect Day is a dystopian science fiction novel by popular novelist Ira Levin written in 1970. New York: Fawcett. ISBN 49902638175. One of Levin's lesser known efforts, the novel describes a society in which everyone has been drugged by the state to reduce them to a state of contented powerlessness. In this he anticipates the contemporary anxiety about the social effects of widespread consumption of prescription antidepressants.
