Hi Bob

I have learned how to reference (basic only) yippee, I am afraid however that Arise is still work in progress. I am trying to as fair as possible and keeping the basic structure. There are however many factual errors backed up with pure conjecture (e.g. its a massive leap to say that a receipt for a donation from BAT for 1/3 of a conference means that every tobacco company chipped in 1/3) rather than appropriately ref'd material so it's a slow process. Please bear with me.

Best wishes,

Dallience.

Hi Bob

Thanks for your helpful message I will ammend any format issues in due course.

Re: Arise

The deletions I made were due to major factual inaccuracies. I have now backed up the corrections with references, but I suggest that if Anne wants to change this back again she ought to provide refernces which back the serious allegations that she is making, both about the people involved and the groups work.

As I understand it Sourcewatch's aim is

"Be fair. Propagandists engage in selective presentation of evidence. Articles written for SourceWatch should strive for a higher standard, by summarizing all evidence and points of view on a subject accurately and thoroughly. .... if those articles become partisan or biased then they will no longer have value for the general public.

Also

I changed material fairly where actual references were used because the referenced material had absolutely no connection whatsoever with the statements being made. But who is going to bother to check.... Can you please confirm that all statements are factually accurate and backed up with hard references.

Best wishes and thanks again for your input.

Dallience.

Hi Dallience, the protocol at SourceWatch is to post a note to the talk page (accessed by clicking the 'discussion' tab) where you make susbtantial changes such as deletions. Given that you deleted substantial amounts of text, I have reverted your edits. with thanks --Bob Burton 06:00, 27 January 2009 (EST)

Given the changes you made to the Monbiot page, I should point out that all key points of material that are added to an article are referenced. Please see Help:References.--Bob Burton 06:04, 27 January 2009 (EST)
