Hey there Eclarkdavis,

My name is Conor Kenny, one of the staff editors on Congresspedia. Thanks for your edits to Ed Markey's page. There's some good stuff in there, but some unnecessary commentary, too. Think Joe Friday: "Just the facts." Our profiles should read like the most sober newspaper article or encyclopedia article, so while commentary is valuable, it should be limited to direct quotes of what other, notable people have said about something. Also, every assertion of fact should have a source another reader/editor can check. A few suggestions:

  • I don't think it's a fact that Markey stands "strong" for the environment or that his actions cry out "I'm a liberal."
  • Where is the link to support his interest group ratings? What defines "compassion for our world"?
  • What does it mean to be a "determined leader" or "captain"? It would be better to quote someone else describing Markey rather than asking people to trust the word of some anonymous wiki editor that these are accurate characterizations.

I hope this was useful - you've got some good starts here, but it still needs some work. Please drop me a note on my talk page if I can be of any further help. Cheers. --Conor Kenny 12:34, 5 December 2008 (EST)
