Roya Boroumand

"Roya Boroumand is the executive director at the Abdorrahman Boroumand Foundation. Roya has a PhD in history of international relations from France and is a specialist in Iran's post-Second World War history. She is a former consultant with the Women's Rights Division of Human Rights Watch and has researched and wrote about women rights and family law in North Africa. She has co-authored several articles on the political situation in Iran and the nature of Islamist terrorism." [1]

She has worked as a consultant for Human Rights Watch on women’s rights in Morocco, Algeria, and Afghanistan. She is the co-founder and executive director of the Boroumand Foundation for the Promotion of Democracy and Human Rights in Iran and is currently working on an Internet-based project to promote human rights education in Iran."
