Hello Chadlupkes,

Welcome to Congresspedia and SourceWatch. As the associate editor of Congresspedia, I try to greet new users and offer any guidance I can to help them get acquainted with the site. We appreciate your additions to the Washington state category page. In order to keep the page consistent with the other state pages, I did move some of your links to the individual profile pages for which they pertain. We hope that you will continue editing in the future.

Your best reference is going to be the Congresspedia help page, which links to just about every other help or guideline page you’ll need. Feel free to use my talk page or email me at efullmer AT congresspedia.org if I can be of any assistance.

Re Wikipedia tags

Hi Chad, thanks for your additions to SourceWatch. I replaced the

Wikipedia-logo-en.png
Wikipedia has an article on:

tag with the Wikipedia also has an article on Chadlupkes. This article may use content from the Wikipedia article under the terms of the GFDL. tag (for example in the Abraham Lincoln article) - instead of introducing a graphic at the head of the article (which visually clashed with the Tobacco Wiki tag - see http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Abraham_Lincoln&oldid=267262) it adds a more discrete link at the foot of the page (as on this version http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Abraham_Lincoln). The Wikipedia also has an article on Chadlupkes. This article may use content from the Wikipedia article under the terms of the GFDL. tag is also more consistent with having our external reference links at the foot of the page. Ling

Tks for the catch on the Ling page. --Bob Burton 16:08, 12 October 2007 (EDT)

Friends of the Earth-US already exists. --Stansand 16:44, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

You're right, but Friends of the Earth on Wikipedia is talking about the international association. Is there room for both on SW? Chadlupkes 16:46, 16 April 2008 (EDT)

stub articles

Hello,

Thanks for starting pages on some SW requested articles... but can I make a suggestion? For SourceWatch stub pages, we usually put up some basic info (self-description, contact info, etc), along with the "stub" tag (the word "stub" in double curly brackets {{}}).

I'm concerned that starting new SW articles, where the only thing on the page is a Wikipedia graphic and link to the Wikipedia article, will encourage visitors to go to Wikipedia rather than develop the SourceWatch article. That's not to say there can't be a link to the corresponding Wikipedia article, but we usually put those in the "external links" section.

Thanks for considering the input...

I've been forgetting the {{stub}} templates, so thanks for the reminder. Chadlupkes 17:38, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
Just to clarify, my point was also that it's best to add some info to the page, even just a one-line description and (where it makes sense) contact info. -- Diane Farsetta 18:26, 16 April 2008 (EDT)
